Tips

The crochet chain stitch is needed here since it helps in starting new rounds, maintaining height, keeping edges even, and creating a tidy, gap-free structure.

While crocheting, every stitch contains two loops, the closer front loop and a more distant back loop.
If instructions say to crochet in the front loop only (FLO), that means we hook only the front portion. For back loop only (BLO), we take the loop which is farthest(back) from us.

We need to count the number of stitches when we finish crocheting each round.
When we finish the first stitch, buckle the yellow marker , and when we finish the last stitch, buckle the blue marker.
We start counting from the stitch on the yellow marker to the stitch on the blue marker to see if it is consistent with the pattern requirements.

Each raised represents a round.
As shown in the picture, there are 6 rounds in total.

Make 6 single crochet stitches into the magic ring.
Magic Ring– The left hand pinches yarn end, using the Thumb and Index Finger. While right hand pinches the fabric bit. This allows to shape the middle of the circle, or some part of the circle into a very minuscule-O gap.

Now after slip stitch (sl), we get 6 stitches for round 1.

Round 2: we using back loops only , we crochet 1 increase in each stitch, – repeat 6 times , ending with 12 stitches.

Round 3: we using back loops only , we crochet order ( sc, inc) – repeat 6 times , ending with 18 stitches.

Back of sunflower crochet.
Maintaining the tidy ensures our sunflower looks trim and helps it hold its shape beautifully!

Front of sunflower crochet.
The face of our sunflower is where the magic ring begins. The first step is a brown fabric which we make with neat rounds to form the bold center which we work on later to add brightly colored petals giving it its ever-famous sunflower shape.
Its very crucial that we shape the petals evenly and space them perfectly as well. When we are done, the front proudly displays all the fluffy texture and color with the warm feel that can only come from handmade.
