Sock Crochet Pattern Step-By-Step Tutorial

A crochet chain stitch is necessary here to initiate new rounds of stitching while keeping the height of the work controlled and the edges neat without any gaps.

For every beginner, I highly advise that you use the marking button (highlighted in yellow within the article) right after the first stitch is made.

For consistency, as mentioned in the article, all blue marking buttons should be placed immediately after the last stitch is done.

Crochet 2 chain stitches in to magic ring.

Then we crochet the first double crochet.

Double crochet as blow:

We yarn over, insert the hook, yarn over again, pull through one loop, yarn over, pull through two loops,we get one loop on the hook.

The 15 double stitches are in to magic ring.

The yarn end of magic rings can be secured with the left fingers while right hand pinches the fabric. this helps in forming the center which is very tiny like an ‘O’ gap.

Slip stitch (sl): will be performed using a hook entering the first yellow v stitch. a yarn over will be performed and bringing the hook out will withdraw the two outer loops resting on the hook. We achieve a single loop which constitutes what is called slip stitch.

After slip stitch ,we get 15 stitches for round 1.

Sock toe is also completed.

Crochet order: 15 single crochet(sc) in each 15 chain stitches(ch)

We put the dark green yarn behind the two brown loops when we crochet the last stitch.

Yarn over, we bring out two brown loops, then we get one loop one the hook, which dark green yarn is completed.

After slip stitch ,we get 15 stitches for round 2.

Crochet order (4sc, inc) repeat 3 times.

After slip stitch ,we get 18 stitches for round 3.

Crochet order : 18 single crochet in each 18 chain stitches

After slip stitch ,we get 18 stitches for round 4.

Same as round 4.

Same as round 5.

Same as round 6.

Same as round 7.

Same as round 8.

Same as round 9.

Same as round 10.

We put the brown yarn behind the two dark green loops when we crochet the last stitch.

Yarn over, we bring out dark green loops, then we get one loop one the hook, which brown yarn is completed.

• 2dc in next 2ch
• dc*inc in next ch ( we need crochet two dc in same stitch)
• 2dc in next 2ch
• hdc in next ch
• sc in next ch
• ch
• turn( we need turn fabric, do not forget it).

• dc*dec in next 2ch(we put two stitch together one stitch)

We yarn over, insert the hook into the first stitch, yarn over, pull out 2 loops (2 loops left). Then we yarn over, insert the hook into the next stitch, yarn over, pull out (4 loops on the hook), yarn, pull out 2 loops, yarn over, pull out the last 3 loops. we get one loop on the hook. Now, we have combined two stitches into one – a double crochet decrease!

From round 14 and round 13, we crochet the heel shape.

Crochet order：18 single crochet in each 18 chain stitch.

We start to crochet the cuff of sock from round 15 to round 21.

Same as round 15.

Same as round 16.

Same as round 17.

Same as round 18.

Same as round 19.

Same as round 20.

When we crochet last stitch (two dark greed yarn),put the rice yarn behind the dark green, yarn over, we bring out the two loop, then we get on loop on the hook ,which we had change the rice yarn.

We crochet 3 chain stitches firstly.

Then we crochet slip stitch in next chain stitch .

Repeat it again .

Leave 8 yarn end and use hook to bring out yarn end, and conceal yarn end.
